Week 28: The babies are the size of eggplants.
We are in the home stretch! The C-section is scheduled, we are working on getting approval for both mom and dad to be in the OR when the babies are delivered and preparations are underway for these boys to join us on the outside. They are growing and stretching and still staying as active as their cramped space allows for. However I can imagine that space is getting sparse in there. There are times I feel "huge"and full, and other times I feel more comfortable. It's hard to imagine how big they, and I, will get over the next 10ish weeks!
What's going on in there? This week the babies are almost 15 inches and are beginning to
experience REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which means it’s very likely that they
are dreaming! So far, their eyes have been shut tight, but now, they can open
and close their eyes, complete with brand new fluttering eyelashes. Fetuses
often stick out their tongues at this age. No one is sure exactly why, but it’s
possible your baby is tasting your amniotic fluid.
Next appointment: 5/18/2021 ultrasound
Feeling: full of babies! Fatigue kicks in a little easier after a long day and it feel much better to be off my feet than on them but overall still feeling just fine :-)
Weight: 182
12 weeks to go! (10 weeks until the 38 week mark!)
