33 weeks - 6/6/21

Week 33: The babies are the size of butternut squash.

How do we only have (up to) 37 days left?! The boys have shoved all my organs elsewhere, breathing seems optional at this point, especially when I try to talk in sentences, clothes are starting to not fit so well, sleeping in a comfortable position is a thing of the past... yet it is hard to think this part of our journey will be over soon, most likely in the next few weeks! I cannot wait to see these boys in the arms of their parents and brother and am already anticipating the cutest updates as they grow up!!

My iron level and iron storage levels came back pretty low so we are scheduling an iron infusion to build everything back up and better prepare my body for the c-section. A bonus should be renewed energy and more oxygen in my blood so hopefully I wont be so winded while reading to the kids at night, as they are starting to fall asleep before I can finish a chapter (not complaining about that lol). Banana still feels like he is completely content hanging out up in my ribs and Apple seems to be nestling his head right into my pelvis.

What's going on in there? This week the babies are drinking up to a pint of amniotic fluid a day! This helps prepare their gastrointestinal system for prime time. And they are gaining weight at a fast clip now, putting on about half a pound a week. They may come close to doubling their weights by the time they are born. The plates of bone in the babies’ skulls are still fairly pliable to prepare for birth.

While Apple feels low, I don't think they have "dropped" yet. Though I am not sure where they are going to drop too since it doesn't feel like the bump can go much lower. And Banana has been quite content in his roof top apartment pretty much the entire time!

Next appointment: 6/11/2021 ultrasound

Feeling: Full of babies! These days I get tired and winded easier which could be explained by the low iron, or simply 33 weeks pregnant with two growing boys. Luckily I can still find some comfortable positions to get in, though I feel like the cat constantly stretching and rolling around trying to find those positions. For now I am enjoying every breathless step I get with the belly buddies before my time babysitting is done and they are off to their next adventure.

Weight:  190 lbs

5 weeks until the 38 week mark!
