Week 35: This week the babies are the size of spaghetti squash.
Happy Father's Day & happy 35 weeks! Good job boys! We are now out of the required NICU window.
Apple seems to be thinking about making his exit, head down and one arm out like he is Superman flying to his next adventure. When I sit for too long his little head nestles down and creates a bit more pressure. While Banana seems perfectly content being high and mighty, up in my rib cage, and rolling around to let me know he is not slowing down or planning on coming out yet. Hopefully this positioning gives them each a bit more room as their apartments get tighter by the day.
There has not yet been a morning where I woke up thinking "could this be the day?!"... But I can only imagine the first contraction, or if my water breaks (which has never happened on its own.. though I have googled "a couple" videos on what to expect if that happens lol.) that this relaxed nature may pick up the pace a bit.
I have not had any quick labors in the past so I am hoping these boys will take it easy if they jump the gun before July 13th, and allow time for everyone to get to where they need to be. They have been very well behaved so far so I will take that as a good sign.
What's going on in there? This week, with less space in the
uterus now, the babies’ movements have shifted from kicks and punches to rolls
and wiggles. The majority of your their growth now is fat. Their shoulders in
particular are padding up for the journey south. By this week, almost all
babies are positioned with their heads facing down toward your cervix, ready
for their trip out.
Next appointment: 6/24/21
Feeling: Full
of babies! The bump continues to grown which causes discomfort as expected but there are still some comfy positions to be found. My husband may not appreciate being left with one flat pillow but the 9 pillows that I have surrounded myself with at night definitely help with supporting me and the boys! Hard to believe that in 3 short weeks I will be sleeping on my back again and these boys will be back home!! (insert exploding heart feeling)
Weight: 194
3 weeks until the 38 week mark!
